Non-Inferiority Logrank Tests

چکیده
Individuals are recruited during an accrual period of R years (or months or days). They are followed for an additional period of time until a total of T years is reached. Hence, the follow-up period is T-R years. At the end of the study, the non-inferiority logrank test is conducted at significance level α with power 1− β . Under the proportion hazards assumption, the hazard ratio HR = h2 / h1 is constant across time. For a given non-inferiority margin HR0 (>1) (the maximum ratio of clinical insignificance), the statistical hypotheses tested are

A unifying approach to non-inferiority, equivalence and superiority tests via multiple decision processes.
Two approaches of multiple decision processes are proposed for unifying the non-inferiority, equivalence and superiority tests in a comparative clinical trial for a new drug against an active control. One is a method of confidence set with confidence coefficient 0.95 improving the conventional 0.95 confidence interval in the producer's risk and also the consumer's risk in some cases. It require...
متن کاملExact and Asymptotic Weighted Logrank Tests for Interval Censored Data: The interval R package.
For right-censored data perhaps the most commonly used tests are weighted logrank tests, such as the logrank and Wilcoxon-type tests. In this paper we review several generalizations of those weighted logrank tests to interval-censored data and present an R package, interval, to implement many of them. The interval package depends on the perm package, also presented here, which performs exact an...
متن کاملNon-Inferiority Designs in A/B Testing
Most, if not all the current statistical literature on online randomized controlled experiments, (commonly referred to as “A/B Tests”), focuses on superiority designs. That is, the error of the first kind is formulated as incorrectly rejecting a composite null hypothesis of the treatment having no effect or having a negative effect. It is then controlled via a statistical significance threshold...
متن کاملComparing Two Survival Time Distributions: An Investigation of Several Weight Functions for the Weighted Logrank Statistic
In survival analysis, it is often of interest to test whether or not two survival time distributions are equal, speci cally in the prescence of censored data. One very popular test statistic utilized in this testing procedure is the weighted logrank statistic. Much attention has been focused on nding exible weight functions to use within the weighted logrank statistic, and we propose yet anothe...
متن کاملWeighted Logrank Permutation Tests for Randomly Right Censored Life Science Data
In biomedical research, weighted logrank tests are frequently applied to compare two samples of randomly right censored survival times. We address the question how to combine a number of weighted logrank statistics to achieve good power of the corresponding survival test for a whole linear space or cone of alternatives, which are given by hazard rates. This leads to a new class of semiparametri...
